Days 10-11

Day Ten: Someone you need to let go or wish you didn't know

Hmmm. I've been procrastinating on this one because I'm not sure I have an answer. I have pretty much parted ways with most of the people who were toxic in my life. There are people I wish I had not known from my past, but no one in the present.

Day Eleven: Something people seem to compliment you on the most
Physically, either my hair or my eyes. Other than that, I am usually appreciated (would that be the same thing?) for caring about others and remembering birthdays. :)

I can't believe Vandy beat Ole Miss yesterday! Way to go, Dores!! Unfortunately, the Vols fell to the Gators. Yeah yeah yeah, it was expected. I was hopeful, though! They really did play a great game. Getting ready to watch my Titans in a couple of hours!! I love this time of year.

Sports Stuff on Sunday

I know the Super Bowl was last week, but I forgot about posting my favorite commercial until I saw them over at Lovely Yellow Ribbons and LMStoehr! This one was my absolute favorite.

So sweet! (And appropriate to post on the Hallmark holiday, right?) I also loved the Doritos commercial with the little kid telling his mom's date to keep his hands of his mama and his Dorito's. Too funny. As for the game, I was torn. Although I'm not a Colts fan, I am a Peyton Manning fan from his days at the University of Tennessee. On the other hand, I thought the Saints winning wouldn't be too bad since they never have. I went with Peyton, though. And I lost. Oh well. At least it was to a team that I kind of liked! Maybe the Titans will go next year? Yeah. Doubtful.

I'm so excited that it's Olympic time! I wish I could be in Vancouver. It looks gorgeous! And really, let's be honest...I'd like to look at Apolo Ohno, too. I enjoyed the speed skating and freestyle moguls this evening. Looking forward to seeing more skiing, speed skating, snowboarding, hockey and, my fave, the figure skating. The Captain and my dad are all about curling this year. Huh? When did it gain such popularity...and why? Maybe someone can enlighten me. Go USA!

Rocky Top, You'll Always Be....

Over at Kelly's Korner today, it's the college football edition of Show Us Your Life. Well anyone who knows me KNOWS that I bleed orange and white. I'm an SEC girl through and through, but my allegiance lies with the University of Tennessee. (Yes, I know I'm a Vandy grad, but I've been hearing Rocky Top since the day I was born.) Grandaddy played for General Neyland and my family hails from Tennessee. I've been attending games since I was a little girl and I still love the thrill of game day in Knoxville. Vol Walk, the Vol Navy, the Rocky Top Battalion presenting the colors, Pride of the Southland Band and running through the T....and that's all before kick off! I do miss hearing John Ward say on Saturdays, "It's Football Time in Tennessee" and the ever wonderful "GIVE HIM SIX!". So our season isn't going so well, but I'm still a proud Vol fan. It's always great to be a Tennessee Vol!
