It's Bloghop time! Riding the Roller Coaster is hosting a bloghop for Military spouses and girlfriends. I love "meeting" new people in the blogosphere, so here's a little about me. I'm Heather and I'm a proud Army girlfriend. Tennessee is where both my Soldier and I call home. I live outside of Nashville and he's stationed in Japan, even though he's hardly ever there. I'm an alumna of Middle Tennessee State University, Vanderbilt University and Delta Zeta Sorority. I studied Psychology and Secondary Education. I love football like any good Southern girl. (GO VOLS!) I enjoy traveling, reading, getting sucked into addictive television shows and building my recipe collection in hopes that one day I might actually cook. I'm starting the Couch to 5K and will hopefully succeed in that endeavor. Ask me about it in about 2 months.  I look forward to new readers and discovering new blogs to follow! Happy Friday :)

*******

After reading lots of blogs in the blog hop, I noticed many included the "how we met" stories. I thought I'd come back and include ours. I went to middle and high school with the Captain. We weren't super close, but had many friends in common, went to the same parties and events and even lived less than a mile from each other. We ended up going to different colleges and our lives took very different paths. However, even in college he lived with some of my close friends and his best friend married one of my sorority sisters. We still never truly connected. He commissioned in 2001 and left Tennessee. I stayed. In 2008 we did reconnect - thanks Facebook! He was at Ft. Bragg at the time and I was living about 30 miles from where we grew up. The rest, as they say, is history. I'm not sure why it took so many years for us to see each other the way we do now, but I wouldn't trade it for the world.

ps. I love your header image!

hi Heather! So nice to meet you. : D

I'm sorry your boyfriend is stationed in Japan (though, honestly it is a nice country). My boyfriend just went through his whole "where should I go or should I stay" bit ... I told him "Across the ocean and you are marrying me." He stuck with NC. ; ) LOL
