Next Step Fit n Full

Another product I received in my #GoVoxBox from Influenster was Next Step Fit n Full Protein Shakes from the Vitamin Shoppe. I also received a Vitamin Shoppe Jaxx Shaker Cup to mix the shakes up in. I LOVE this cup!! I had chocolate, berry, and vanilla. All were great!! I really appreciated that it used Stevia as the sweetener instead of aspartame or sucralose. The shakes taste good and do not leave a chalky or gritty aftertaste. They are also not as expensive as similar shakes you would find out on the market. Great product!!

#GoVoxBox

I received my #GoVoxBox from Influenster this week! It included products for people who enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle. Here are the products I've been able to sample:

ProFoot Triad Orthotics
ProFoot Pedi Rock
Blue Diamond Blueberry Almonds
Aqua Spa Bath Soak (Lavender and Chamomile)
Playtex Sport Fresh Balance Tampons
Vitamin Shoppe Next Step Fit n Full Protein Shakes (Berry, Vanilla, Chocolate) and a Shaker Cup
Coupon for a free Muller Quaker Yogurt

What an awesome box of products to try!! I'll be blogging, Facebooking, Tweeting, and Instagramming my reviews of each product, so stay tuned!!

ProFoot Goodies!

I received the ProFoot Triad Orthotics and Pedi Rock from Influenster to sample and review. They arrived in my #GoVoxBox for people who like to live a healthy and active lifestyle! I was really excited to try these out.
First, the Triad Orthotics. These are great, inexpensive inserts for your shoes. You can buy them at Wal-Mart as cheap as $5! That's a great price for an orthotic. They fit well in my shoes and did not need to be trimmed to fit. They provided great support and were very comfortable! Hello happy feet!
Speaking of happy feet, the Pedi Rock is amazing. I was actually in need of a new foot file/pumice/anything to soften my feet, so this came at the perfect time! It looks like a big lava rock and it's soft, so it forms to the hand holding it and the foot very well. It can also be used wet or dry. Love it!! My feet feel amazing!

Thanks so much to Influenster! #GoPROFOOT

What's your song?

Participating in Goodnight Moon's weekly song link up!

I'm feeling several songs this week! After watching the ACM awards, I found a couple of new songs and I'm also picking out music for our upcoming wedding. (Or our "after wedding" as it has been dubbed!) And anyone who knows me knows I can't ever pick just one song....

Thompson Square

Without You
Keith Urban

Honey Bee
Blake Shelton

Old Alabama

Crazy Girl
Eli Young Band

And this song is just fun and it makes me dance in the car.

MilSpouse Survey

Mrs. S posted this and I thought I'd fill one out, too.

1. How long have you been a military wife?  5 1/2 months

2. What branch of service is your husband? Army

3. Active/Reserve? Active Duty

4. What is his job? Civil Affairs Officer

5. How many deployments have you gone through? I have been through one. It was his fourth.

6. Camo or Dress uniforms on your man? I love both. I don't get to see the dress too often!

7. What do you like about being a military wife? Seeing new places and being married to someone I am so incredibly proud of.

8. Do you live on base? No. We live about 10 minutes from post, though.

9. What is your favorite base so far? Torii Station was nice because it was on the beach, but Ft. Leavenworth is a nice, quiet post. I wouldn't want to stay here forever, but it's nice for now.

10. What is the hardest part of the military life? The hurry up and wait life can be difficult and the separations are really tough.

11. Do you go to the grocery store or Commissary? Usually Wal-Mart, but whatever is most convenient.

12. Do you work or stay at home? I'm a house wife right now. If it were up to me, I'd stay one forever!

13. Do you have a lot of military wife friends? I have a lot of sorority sisters who are military wives and my best friend from home is also an Army wife. I really haven't met anyone since I married into the Army.

14. Do you prefer Walmart or the BX/PX/NEX/MCX? Our PX is not so impressive. If we lived in Hawaii, then I would totally shop at the Pearl Harbor NEX, though!

15. How did your husband propose? Eh, there really wasn't a big proposal. It was just kind of a discussion about getting married and we did.

16. Did you marry him after he joined or before? After.

17. How long have you been together? Since December 2008

18. Any kids? One on the way!

19. Any kids yet to come?  We have our first due in September and hope to have another one in about three years.

20. Is your husband one of those "I am soldier hear me HOOAH" kind of guys? Absolutely not. I think he is proud of his work, but he doesn't advertise his Soldier status and he's not hard core about it. I guess it's a Special Operations, thing.

21. Have you ever done combatives with your husband? He's taught me a few things.

22. How many bases have you lived at? This is the first one I have officially lived at. I lived across the street from Torii Station, Okinawa for the last six months of his time there.

23. If you could change one thing about the military? I'm not sure. The answer would probably change from time to time.

24. Do you like military balls? I've only been to one, but I enjoyed it. Ask me in a few years if I still do.

25. Where does your family live? Both of our families live in Tennessee and both of our mom's families live in Alabama.

26. What do you do for a job? I just received my substitute teaching license for Kansas. I'll do that until after the baby is born and decide what I'm doing from there.

27. Have you ever gotten in a fight with an NCO's wife? Um, no. Why would I?

28. Name one thing you do when your husband is gone. I don't know that I do anything differently, except maybe keep my phone with me at all times.

29. Do you think other wives do that too? Definitely.

States I've Visited

I found this over at Eat, Pray, Love....Live and thought I'd play, too. I guess I have seen about half of the country. I need to hit up the other half!

Five states I'd like to visit:
Alaska
Washington
New York
Rhode Island
Colorado

You can grab your own map here if you want to!

I need a new blog name! I'm so not creative. I made a list at some point of possible names, so I need to find that. Maybe I'll run a poll.

MilSpouse Fill-In Friday

I don't think I have ever done one of these! Wife of a Sailor hosts the MilSpouse Fill-In each Friday.

1. What is your must have gadget? submitted by Flying High With My Flyboy
My iPhone. I'm hopelessly addicted to it.

2. How does your adulthood compare to what you imagined it would be like when you were a little kid? submitted by L to the Third
Oh wow. It is completely different. I thought I would be married before I was 25. I was 32. I thought I would be finished having children by the time I was 30. Obviously, that didn't happen since I married at 32. I thought I would be successful at whatever it was I was doing. I've definitely struggled with the right career path. One thing is the same, though. I am ridiculously happy with the man of my dreams.

3. What is your favorite chocolate recipe?  submitted by Our First Deployment
I'm not sure I have a favorite. I really like my dad's White Chocolate Blueberry Bread Pudding. Sounds gross, but it is amazing.

4. How do you deal with military life when it gets to be too much or too hard? submitted by Combat Boots And Pointe Shoes
I just have to remember that I signed up for this and I knew what I was getting into. I also know that I need to be strong for him and that what he's doing is even harder.

5. What piece of advice would you give a new Military spouse facing their first deployment?  submitted by The Albrecht Squad
Some days are going to be easier than others. Some days you won't want to get out of bed. Let yourself feel whatever you need to feel because it will pass. You'll get stronger. You'll be okay. Yes, you should be strong for yourself and for him, but you don't have to be strong 100% of the time. You'll just get overwhelmed and it will build up too much. Talk to the people who make you feel better. Do things you enjoy. Send lots of care packages and letters and cards. Keep him connected to your life at home.

Greetings from the Blizzard Bloghop!

Hello and welcome! It's not quite a blizzard here, but there are several inches of snow sticking around outside from last week's snow. For those just joining me here, my name is Heather and I am a fairly new Army wife! We are stationed at Fort Leavenworth (Kansas) where my husband is attending the Command and General Staff College (ILE). We just moved here from Okinawa, Japan in December. We got married in October in Hawaii and will be having our actual wedding back home in Nashville in May. We are both from the Nashville area. We went to middle and high school together, but didn't reconnect until 2008. We did the long-distance thing for a year and a half during a deployment, time in Japan and lots of TDY time. I moved there last July so we could finally be together. It turned out to be a great decision!

While I haven't blogged much since we left Japan, I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things. It used to be a place to document the ups and downs of living 8,000 miles away from the man that I loved, but it is now going to transition to our lives back in the States, being a newlywed and being a new Army wife. Just life in general, I suppose!

Thanks for stopping in and I hope you come back!
