Day 23 and Big News

Day Twenty-Three - A You Tube video...

I'm sure everyone has seen this already, but it just doesn't get old!

82nd Airborne in Afghanistan

Okay, so you want to hear my news? Well....I'm moving to Japan! The Captain and I have been talking about this for a long time and we're finally at the point that we are ready to do it. He has 5-6 months left and I will be joining him for the remainder of his tour there. I am beyond excited and can't wait to finally be with him on a daily basis after 18 months of doing the long-distance thing. We're actually doing this very soon....as in Thursday. Yes. I am leaving Thursday morning! I'm definitely all over the place emotionally. I've never lived more than 45 minutes from my family, so this will be hard. My parents are supportive of the move, but they both cried a little when I told them. I kind of expected my mom to cry, but my dad?? The airport is going to be ROUGH! I will miss them terribly and there are a lot of things I will miss out on - my nephew, his birthday, possibly seeing my brother graduate from Basic, random family events - but this is what we sign up for when we fall in love with a military man. I knew that in the beginning and I am okay with it, but it does make me a bit emotional. I'm nervous about leaving, but I'm really not nervous about moving to Japan at all. This feels completely right and I'm just thrilled to be moving forward with our life together. I can't wait to see what it brings. By the end of this week, I will be back in the Captain's arms and I can't imagine anything sweeter right now.

That is very big news! I wish I could just follow my heart sometimes and 'do' stuff like that but I have to over analyze and hammer out the logistics of everything! Can't wait to read about your Japanese adventures!

How exciting! Congrats! I too had never lived more than 1 hour away from my family before we moved to Italy. It was tough saying goodbye, but I know it's not forever!
